How Sad our State

Today’s hymn comes from Isaac Watts, and it tells of our poor and wretched state before Christ, yet his mercy and grace in saving us. Hallelujah, what a Saviour! Enjoy!

How sad our state by nature is!

Today’s song is Psalm 16 from The Corner Room. If you have not listened to their music, you are really missing out! They put word for word ESV scripture to music. The songs are written very well musically, and do not sound clunky at all. They will help you more easily memorise lots of scripture. Enjoy this one!

Preserve me, O God, for in You, I take refuge

Grace Unmeasured

Today’s song is vintage Sovereign Grace, from 2005. It’s a song reflecting on God’s grace and all that has been done, and all that will be done for us. You can’t reflect on God’s grace enough! At my church we usually include a reading of Ephesians 2:1-9 before the last refrain. Enjoy this one!

Jesus, What A Friend For Sinners

Today’s hymn comes from John Wilbur Chapman (1859-1918). Chapman entered full-time evangelistic work, preaching with Dwight L. Moody and also conducting many of his own revivals. This hymn was written in 1910 when Chapman preached that Jesus was a friend to the greatest sinner. He used Luke 7:34 as his inspiration, “A friend of tax collectors and sinners1.” Enjoy the version below by Matthew Smith.
